It’s not all body-con for Jorge, though. The word he uses to describe his pieces first and foremost is organic. His first collection was called Fluid, inspired by the “stereotypical idea of Brazilian sensuality,” though this season finds him going down a more naturalistic path with his second line, called Stream. “The inspiration is purely liquid streams, the movement of liquid,” he tells Style.com over the phone from his studio in London, his adopted home since studying at Central Saint Martins. “But again, I’m still thinking about the contours of the body, and imagining gold and stones flowing around the skin as liquid. So that evokes the sensuality of my earlier collection, but it’s a bit more aerodynamic, with bolder movements. It’s more artistic and free.”
The collection’s campaign, debuting exclusively here, stars Brazilian actress Luisa Moraes in the chalcedony, pink opal, orange chalcedony, and labradorite pieces. “Luisa is, to me, the symbol of the sensual Brazilian woman. She’s effortlessly sensual and beautiful,” Jorge says, adding that the idea was “to shoot her in a very laid-back, casual way in a location that was chosen to evoke this natural, free-spirit woman that we want to appeal to.”
